To get the most enjoyment out of your RV, you will need to conduct preventive maintenance on it regularly. An RV Annual Inspection is a 4-5 hour inspection where a Certified RV Technician checks out all the systems to catch any issues before they become large "Vacation Ending" problems.

Is This Similar To A Pre-Purchase Inspection?

No. A Pre-Purchase Inspection is a comprehensive process to inform the buyer of the condition of an RV they do not own yet. It generates an extensive report and photos. The RV Annual Inspection evaluates most of the same systems from an RV Tech's perspective and following manufacturers preventative maintenance guidelines. This inspection generates a checklist of items to be repaired, resealed, cleaned, or replaced.

What Are The Advantages To An Annual Inspection?

The most important advantage is to keep your RV in optimal condition. Another advantage to annualized inspections is maintaining the value of your RV. If you were to consider two identical RV's to buy. One owner says "It's always run great! I've never had to do anything to it". The other owner has had an Annual Maintenance Inspection every year to check all the components and completed any preventive maintenance necessary. Which one would you buy?

How Often Should I Get My RV Inspected?

I would recommend an annual inspection. While RV's sit in storage or at home they are still aging. They may not get as much wear and tear on them as those RV's that are lived in full time, but the sealant on the roof and sidewalls will still crack. mud daubers will set up residence inside AC's Furnaces, behind refrigerators. Seals will get brittle. The best practice is to get an annual inspection. At least that way, it should be ready to go when you need it.

Can I Do The Repair Work Myself?

Absolutely, The goal is to keep your RV in optimal shape throughout the year. If you decide to do the work yourself, make sure to keep any documentation.
